About Me

My name is Jerome Murray and I currently live in Warwickshire which at first sight does not appear to be the best place to exploit my love of coastal photography, it does however allow for equal options when deciding which coastline to visit and means that I never tire or become blasé about the stunning coastline we are blessed with around the UK.

I specialize primarily in seascapes closely followed by landscapes because for me the ever changing light, tide and weather conditions mean that no matter how many times I visit a location I will always return with a different result. This has the added benefit of always providing me with new opportunities no matter how popular a location or how many times it has been photographed in the past.

Like most other landscape photographers I like to do most of my work around dawn or dusk but find that I enjoy the quiet stillness of a new day the most enjoyable and potentially the most rewarding time, as conditions are almost impossible to predict and occasionally delight in producing wonderful unexpected light.

I started photography around 4 years ago when the digital era really came on strong and am proud to say that I am completely self taught through reading and experimentation, although I have attended a couple of residential courses along the way.

I always aim to keep my work realistic and true to the scene I am trying to capture so my Photoshop adjustments are usually subtle rather than extreme and over saturated.

I am now a regular contributor to Amateur Photographer, Dorset Life, Digital SLR Photography, Photography Monthly magazines as well as being represented by three international picture agencies.
